Thinking of You

Hello.
I am back from my week in Ireland. It was a lovely, relaxing trip. As we visit almost every year it is hard to find new things to do. This time we managed to do a mixture of new things, things we haven't done in years and the things that we have to do every time we go. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

On to my card...I started by spraying a scrap piece of watercolour paper in Maple Creative Colour Spray, then stamped over that using the Flounce set from Papermania's Persimmon Collection. I tied some bakers twine around the watercolour paper. The sentiment is from a Studio G set, that was stamped onto a separate paper and is raised up using foam pads.

Snow Day

Hello.
I recently got a few Dilly Beans digi's and have been enjoying colouring a few of them. This is my first card using one of their images.

I also want to share the picture I took this morning of the view from my craft room. I love snow!

1 Year Anniversary

Hello.
The end of this month is quite a busy time for birthday's so I'm trying to get ahead on the cards. This one is for James' sister and her husband who will be celebrating their first anniversary in a couple of weeks.
I used the same five papers to add a decorative strip on the inside.

Birthday girl

Hello.
This sweet image is a freebie from Stamp Insanity. She is a Valentine's day image, but she is only holding a Valentine's card which is fairly well hidden so she can be used for anything really.

Star!

Hello.
Last week I decided I would give the SCS sketch challenge a go because I haven't done one for a while. The card sat unfinished for a few days, but now I have gone back to it.
Here is the sketch.

Skelekinz Good Luck!

Hello.
My cousin and her boyfriend leave for University in less than two weeks. This is the card I am sending to her to wish her good luck while she is there. I will be working on one for her boyfriend over the next couple of days.

Have fun

Hello.
You know when you start making a card and then halfway through don't know how to finish it. That's what happened here. I made the background and then took a long time to decide how to finish it. I don't really like how it ended up looking, but I didn't want to leave my blog without a post again.

Flower girl.

Hello.
This easel card has been waiting half finished on my desk for a couple of days. But my mum brought these flowers home for me and I thought one would be the perfect finishing touch. The image is by Digi Stamps 4 Joy.

Happy birthday Michael!

Hello.
Today my brother turns 25. I shared on Monday the card James and I are sending so today I am sharing the one from my parents. I'm not entirely sure of the reasons behind it, but my brother is a Holland supporter. As you may know they recently lost the world cup. When I asked my mum what she wanted on her card, this was her suggestion. I don't really know why she would want to remind him of their losing, but I'm sure he will see the funny side of it. The deflated football is also on the inside of the card.

- The sentiment is stamped using an alphabet by Studio G.

Magic the Gathering

Hello.
Thursday is my brother's birthday and I need to get a couple of cards made for him. I was struggling with ideas until James mentioned Magic the Gathering, which him and my brother play together. I took a picture of the backs of a few cards and used that as the background on my card. They have a brown oval in the middle, and red dots in the corner so I used them as inspiration. Now I just need to make one for my parents to send.
On the inside I have stamped five circles which are the colours of decks in the game.
- The large alphabet is 'Bold Alpha' by Elzybells
- The small alphabet is by Studio G

Happy Aniversary!

Hello.
Today is my parents anniversary. I shared recently the card my Mum has sent to my Dad and now I am going to show you the one's they will both be receiving. The sugar packets on this one are from Coffee Revolution. I saved them because both my parents have the initials CR so they were perfect for this card. This is being sent by my brother and his girlfriend.
This is the one James and I will be sending.
- The paper is from a DCWV 8x8 pad. (I'm not sure which one as I no longer have the cover.)
- The letters are 'Shimmer Alpha White' by Making Memories.

Simple birthday set

Hello.
A super quick and simple set of eight birthday cards to share today. I actually finished them a couple of days ago, and am only posting them as I haven't got anything new to share. Hopefully I can get something done tomorrow. Today though, I am off to Manchester to see Green Day. I am so excited right now!

ERPOM! Challenge number 6

Hello.
The sixth ERPOM challenge is being hosted by Debbie. She has set the fun challenge of using a movie as inspiration. The full details of the challenge can be found here.

My card is based on Moulin Rouge. There is a picture at the bottom of the post which is what inspired me to use this picture of myself and James at our engagement party. The sentiment is a line from my favourite song in the film. For the heart I drew around a keyring and then cut it out by hand.
- The film strip is from a 12x12 acetate sheet by Hot of the Press
- The sentiment is stamped using an alphabet set by Stuido G. There is no apostrophe in the set, which is why there isn't one in you're.

Grungey birthday

Hello.
There's not really much to tell about this card, it's quite a simple design. I did have fun grunging up the background paper though.- The image is from the 'Rock Star' set by Inkadinkado
- The sentiment is from Studio G clear stamps
- The paper is from the 'Rock King' mat stack by DCWV

Birthday butterflies

No samples for today because I have been out all day at the Love Music, Hate Racism festival. Here is a quick card I made yesterday using the 'Just Chillin' 6x6 pad by Making Memories and a Happy Birthday stamp by Studio G.

Samples day six

Hello
Here are today's samples. The first one is a one layer card. I changed the sketch slightly by taking the line out of the middle. I really love that rainbow arrow and I think I will be using that idea again.
- The arrow is from the 'Fun & Funky Arrows' set by Hot off the Press.
- You is stamped using 'Curly Font' by Papermania
- Are awesome is stamped using an alphabet set by Studio G

The second card didn't really go how I wanted it to, but I thought I would share it anyway. I bought this stamp set yesterday, and when I've got a little more time to play with it I will be making a shaker card. I think they just about show up in the picture, but there are spots of glitter dotted about in the snow globe.
- Image and sentiment are from 'Carol Singers' by Woodware Craft Collection
- Patterned paper is from the 'A Wonderful Christmas' 6x6 pad by Papermania

Christmas in Jan, Feb and March

Hello.
This year I am trying to make at least ten Christmas cards per month so that when it gets to December I will have plenty and will not have to rush them. Over the weekend I have made ten for March, and since I didn't have a blog in January or February I am going to share the ones that I made then as well.

January:

February:
This is actually the letter S from a Christmas font. I just printed it off ten times, stuck each to the front of a card and then coloured them. Really simple, but I think it is such a nice image.

March:

I will be back tomorrow with a tutorial for the star book from my last post.

Colour and Sketch Challenges

Hello.
Today I have both Tuesdays and Wednesdays SCS challenges to share with you.

The first is the colour challenge. The colours for this week were Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Pink Passion. I don't own any SU! products (yet) so I have tried to choose colours that were close to them.

- 'FUN FUN FUN' is from the Owl set in the Honey and Hugs range by Papermania which is available here.
- The skull border is from the Rock Star set by Inkadinkado which is available here.

Next is the sketch challenge.

- The two ladies are from Asian Characters set by Inkadinkado which is available here.
- 'Smile' is from an alphabet set by Studio G Clear Stamps.
- The background paper came from a pack I bought from the Japanese shop at Epcot.

A week of challenges

Hello.
Firstly I want to thank anyone who has viewed my blog this first week, and especially thanks to Vicki and Cheryl for leaving me a comment.

This week I will be joining in with each of the daily challenges on SCS. I have read them all for so long and done a few of them, but never actually shared my designs so I will finally be doing that. They might not all get done on the actual day, but I will share them all here when they are done.

Todays challenge is the technique one and this week it is to make something with a vintage theme. Here is my card:

- The patterned paper is from Scrap Within Reach and is called Raspberry Lace.
- The flower is from Prima
- The stamp is from Studio G Clear Stamps.
- The ribbon was in a box of old ribbons that my mum gave me, so I have no idea where it originally came from.
(After looking online for links to show you the products I've used I can't find any of them. Sorry.)

These are the stamp sets that I mentioned yesterday. Each one comes with a mini ink pad in black. Mine are looking a bit worse for wear, but you can see how cute they are.
