Green Beads

Hello.
Using a paper from the Travel Light pad by We R Memory keepers I've been making paper beads. So far I have finished two bracelets. I have a few leftover beads and plenty more paper strips to make another couple. As they are green I wore them for St. Patrick's Day yesterday.

Happy Birthday James!

Hello.
Today is James' birthday! I have made him an accordion card using an idea I've had for a while. When I saw Cookie Guy and Superhero from Kenny K I wanted to make a card based on Superman changing in the phone booth. Since James is a comic book fan I wanted to wait for his birthday to make it. I found the phone booth image on a blog called Beyond the Fringe.

The change takes place over three pages of the card. The first page shows the Cookie Guy, the second is the Telephone Booth with the blur of colour inside as he changes to be the Superhero who appears on the third page. I thought it would be fun to have the sentiment spread over all three pages too.

For each image I created a background to match. Cookie Guy has games console controllers, the Telephone Booth has numbers as they are on a phone key pad, and the Superhero has stars.

I added some gloss to Cookie Guy's glasses, and the Telephone Booth is laid over acetate so that they both look more like glass. To finish each panel I added some faux stitching around the edges.

Snow scene

Hello.
This card is going to the part of my family who don't come to my Grandma's for Christmas, I am getting all the family who do come to my Grandma's to sign it for them. It uses the beautiful 'On a Winter's Day' image by Delicious Doodles. I left the image as it is when printed because it really doesn't need anything adding to it. I framed it with some stickles, then backed it on plain white card. For the next layer I stamped a snowflake image by HOTP in silver onto white card. Then it all went on an 8x8 card base. The sentiment comes from the Seasons Greetings set by Papermania.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 6

Hello.
The technique challenges start on day 6 of the 31 Day Card Challenge. The first of the techniques is paper piecing. I used a paper from my scraps to paper piece the shorts on this image, and then used the same paper for two of the layers on the card.

Teddy Bo

Hello.
I've recently reorganised my craft room and realised that I have a lot of sets which came free with magazines which haven't been inked up. This card is making a start on using some of them. The bear is from a set by Teddy Bo & Co. The actual stamp isn't holding anything so I gave her a balloon from a Crafter's Companion set. Both the image stamps were from unused freebie sets. The sentiment comes from the Forever Friends 'Black and Gold (Phrases)' set.

Postbox

Hello.
I think this might be my new favourite image for Christmas cards. It doesn't require much colouring, and it looks so classic. To add to the snowy effect of the card I put stickles along the edge of each piece of card.

Field of flowers

Hello.
My Grandma asked me recently to make a card for her cousin. I thought straight away of this stamp, and this design. The image and sentiment are from two different magazine sets.

Birthday blues

Hello.
Today is one of my best friends birthdays, so I have made this easel card for her. I created the background using a stamp which came in a set I bought at Poundland. The two images are digi's the girl is from Kenny K and the mp3 player is from Starry Night Studios. The sentiment is from a magazine freebie set by Ladybug Crafts Ink. For the bottom panel I hand drew some buttons to keep with the mp3 player theme.

An update on my last post:
Thomas was born Saturday evening at around 5:30. Unfortunately we didn't get to go and see him on Sunday because of icy roads and work clashing with visiting hours. I have seen pictures of him though, and he is beautiful. We will be going to see him this Sunday instead.
