Happy Birthday Geran! and Happy Anniversary Treena and Bob!

Hello.
Today is James' Auntie's birthday, and his parents anniversary, so I have two cards to share.

First is the card for his Auntie, I masked off an area in the middle of the card and then stamped a butterfly from the Just Chillin' set by Making Memories. When I removed the mask I added some faux stitching and stamped a sentiment from the Jungle Creatures set by Kanban.

For his parents anniversary card I used Derek and Deirdery Dunderton from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. They were backed by some white card and a paper from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey, both of which were inked along the edges. I don't have an anniversary stamp and I didn't want to use an alphabet set so for the sentiment I used Family Greetings by Elzybells to create one.

Calenders

Hello.
My cousin and her boyfriend have gone back to University today after the Christmas break. I gave them a pair of calenders as gifts to take with them. I included pictures of when James and I went with them to Comic Con. The title was added using glittery stickers by Making Memories and the paper is from my pile of out of packaging paper, so I'm not sure what pad it's from.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 31

Hello.
The last day of October and the last day of the 31 Day Card Challenge. The final challenge is just to repeat whichever was your favourite challenge. I chose to repeat day 6 which was paper piecing. It's a fun technique to add pattern to an image, which I don't do very often so I thought that would be a good one to repeat. I have used Grandma from Crafter's Companion and given her an animal print dress using the Safari Kids pad by DCWV. I finished off with a sentiment from the Girl Just Chillin' set by Making Memories.

Here are the cards from day one to day thirty:

And last, but not least I have to say thank you to Danie for playing along.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 22

Hello.
The challenge for day 22 of the 31 Day Card Challenge is to make a card inspired by your favourite place. I have a few places in mind for this, but quite a few of them are beaches, so I went with beaches in general for my inspiration, although Rossnowlagh in Ireland and Marazion in Cornwall are two of my favourite beaches.

Paint Splashes

Hello.
This image is from my pile of digi's which I've coloured ready to be made into cards. I was looking through that pile and realised this painter would go perfect with the splatter stamp from the Just Chillin' set. The splatter stamp was used with a selection of ColorBox ink pads to create a fun background for the Owl.

Blackpool

Hello.
Today I have been with James and his family to Blackpool. There is a photo below of them all with Blackpool Tower in the background. We had a lovely day visiting Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, eating fish & chips at Harry Ramsdens and playing on the 2p slot machines.

I made this card on Tuesday without actually thinking about the trip to Blackpool, but it's quite fitting that they've ended up in the same post. This is Marina from Delicious Doodles. She is backed on a paper from the Boy's Just Chillin' pad by Making Memories. I added an Elzybells sentiment to finish.

Colourful Creature

Hello.
This card started with me just playing around because I wasn't sure what I wanted to make. I embossed Gumbo from Doodle Factory's Creatures Set II all over a piece of paper with a glitter embossing powder. Then I used my ColorBox ink pads to add some colour. I then stamped and coloured Gumbo on another piece of paper and used a scrap of striped paper for the background. Now I just need to find something to do with rest of the paper I created.

Medusa's Daughter

Hello.
I've missed the last couple of Delicious Doodles challenges, so figured I should join in with the current one. It's a 3,2,1 challenge. I have used 3 pearls, 2 papers from the Far East stack and 1 Delicious Doodles image.

Happy mail

Hello.
I'm a little behind with posting this. On Friday I received an awesome package in the mail. It was the blog candy I won from Kelly's blog a little while back. I had to wait all weekend before I could play with it though. So on Monday I made this card using lots of items from the package. The package contained a lot of firsts for me including my first Stampin! Up sets, my first Riley stamps and my first image from The Greeting Farm. I love everything that was sent to me, especially the card that she included with it. When I've finished this post I'll be off to play with my new goodies some more.

Here is a little peek at what was in the package.

I want to finish the post with a massive thank you to Kelly. Thank you for such a wonderful prize! It was well worth waiting for!

Happy 30th

Hello.
This month I have five birthday cards to make for members of James' family. This is the first one of the five, and is for his cousin who is turning 30. I used my new Papermania Typography numbers to emboss 30 onto some Making Memories paper and used the same paper for the background. The sentiment at the bottom is from a set of pre-stamped sentiments which came with a magazine.

Forever young take two

Hello.
The set I used for the sentiment yesterday was still on my desk when I sat down to create something, so I played around with making a single layer card using only that set. Here is what I came up with.

Forever young

Hello.
This card started out as a single layer, but I decided it would be better with a frame around the edge. I stamped the image once and then embossed it slightly to the side to give a shadowed effect. The faux stitching along the bottom is wavy to go with the sentiment.

Happy birthday Anne!

Hello.
Yesterday was my Auntie's birthday. This is the card James and I sent. She listens to all sorts of different music so that is what I based the card on. I will also be entering this into Heather's ERPOM! challenge, which is to create your own background paper.
- The music note is from the 'Rock Star' set by Inkadinkado
- The dancing girl is from the 'In The Groove' set by Inkadinkado
- The sentiment is from the 'Just Chillin' girls' set by Making Memories

Dancing Owls

Hello.
My first new card for a few days. I've been working a lot more than usual, so have barely been in the house. But today (technically yesterday as it's now almost 1am) was the start of nine days off! So my blog should be a bit busier this week.

This card was made almost entirely from the Just Chillin Girls collection by Making Memories. The only thing that isn't in that collection is the Happy Birthday stamp, which is from 'Worth Repeating' by Stampology.

Pop-up Mojo

Hello.
I have a couple of cards to share. The first is a free standing pop-up card, the instructions for which can be found here. These are really fun cards and I have been wanting to try one for a while. I also used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for the design.

- The two patterned papers were free with a magazine, but they have Making Memories logo on the back.
- 'Happy Birthday' is from Worth Repeating by Stampology, which is available here (about halfway down the page).

Second is an easel card. This really only came about because I wanted to play with my fusible fibres. I bought them a couple of years ago and I have only used them twice. I think I will be playing with them more over the next few days.

- The stamps are from the Rock Star set by Inkadinkado, which is available here.
- The paper is from the Rock Star mat stack by DCWV, which is viewable here.
