Happy Birthday Geran! and Happy Anniversary Treena and Bob!

Hello.
Today is James' Auntie's birthday, and his parents anniversary, so I have two cards to share.

First is the card for his Auntie, I masked off an area in the middle of the card and then stamped a butterfly from the Just Chillin' set by Making Memories. When I removed the mask I added some faux stitching and stamped a sentiment from the Jungle Creatures set by Kanban.

For his parents anniversary card I used Derek and Deirdery Dunderton from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. They were backed by some white card and a paper from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey, both of which were inked along the edges. I don't have an anniversary stamp and I didn't want to use an alphabet set so for the sentiment I used Family Greetings by Elzybells to create one.

Happy Birthday Frank!

Hello.
Today is James' Granddad's birthday. I went with a book theme for his card using papers from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey and the Book Stack image from Bugaboo. The sentiment is from the Elzybells Hey Cupcake set.

CYDI? Challenge # 35 - Birthday Flowers

Hello.
Although I did make two cards for the new CYDI? challenge and they were on the store blog in time, I am posting them late on my own blog. The new challenge is Birthday Flowers.

My first card was made using Penelope by LilyPink Designs. She is backed on a paper from the Designstax pad by Papermania. I added some Dovecraft bunting and created a sentiment using a mix of chipboard letters and peel off stickers. When I had finished I realised that it didn't mention birthdays, which is why I made the second card.

For the second card I used Celebrate With Cake by A Creative Need. All I added was a sentiment. Both the image and sentiment are raised using foam pads.

Happy Birthday Ellie!

Hello.
Today is James' cousins birthday. I got my Elzybells stamps out for this one. The card was kept simple with just a couple layers and the stamping, and I coloured using pencils to keep with the soft, neutral colours.

More birthday cards

Hello.
These are two more cards my Mum received for her birthday. These were made by me for my Grandma and Uncle to send.

This first one uses an image which was from the Disguised as a Grown Up Blog. I paper pieced her dress using the same paper I backed her on. It is from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey. The sentiment was created using the Script Alphabet by Hobbycraft.

The second card uses Brad and Janet from the Rocky Horror set from Octopode Factory. I created the sentiment using an Elzybells alphabet. For anyone that doesn't know, 'Dammit Janet' is a song from Rocky Horror.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Hello.
Today is my Mum's birthday! As well as making a card for her I have made her a calender. This guy is Romeo by Kenny K. Anyone who has ever had to make my mum a coffee will have most likely heard her saying the phrase I have added. The writing was done using Hobbycraft's Typography Alphabet, and the paper is from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey.

I used another Kenny K image (Total Disaster) for her card. I have been planning this card for her since I first got that digi. I used an Elzybells alphabet for most of the sentiment, and a FunkyHand stamp for the rest. The spotty paper is from the All Seasons pad in the Recollections range from Michael's.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 28

Hello.
The third sketch of the 31 Day Card Challenge is a circle card. I thought I would make it into a Halloween card, so I used this fun cupcake from Doodle Dragon Studios.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 22

Hello.
The challenge for day 22 of the 31 Day Card Challenge is to make a card inspired by your favourite place. I have a few places in mind for this, but quite a few of them are beaches, so I went with beaches in general for my inspiration, although Rossnowlagh in Ireland and Marazion in Cornwall are two of my favourite beaches.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 15

Hello.
Day 15 of the 31 Day Card Challenge and the challenge for today is to use punches. I used a circle and a witch punch to make a mini scene of a witch flying past the moon. When I'd made the mini scene I went looking for a sketch which would suit the little square. I found one from the end of September on CPS, sketch 285. For the other two squares I used stamps from the Elzybells Happy Haunting set. I don't have any Halloween papers, they don't seem to sell many in the UK, so I added spiders, from the same Elzy set to a paper from the Hopscotch pad by K&Co. I finished off with a few purple gems in the opposite corner.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 13

Hello.
Not your usual method of colouring is today's challenge in the 31 Day Card Challenge. I almost always colour using my promarkers so I chose to colour my image with pencils. The paper is from my scraps, it is cut in two and then stapled together. I used an old nail file to remove the colour from the middle of the paper so I could add a sentiment.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 7

Hello.
The challenge for day 7 of the 31 Day Card Challenge was to use embossing. I decided to use heat embossing. I drew spider webs using my embossing pen and used a clear embossing powder with bits of glitter in.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 2

Hello.
Day 2 of the 31 Day Card Challenge is mint chocolate. I coloured this bed from Birds Cards in mint green and three shades of brown. I thought the bed might be a good image for a get well soon card, so I used a sentiment that I think works on that theme. For the background I used a paper from the Out of Print pad by Basic Grey because most people I know tend to read a lot when they're ill and needing to rest.

Christmas already?

Hello.
Christmas is starting to appear already here! There's a couple of shops that have started to get Christmas stock in, and craft magazines are giving away Christmas stamps and papers. While I definitely think it's too early for Christmas to be appearing in shops, it's never too early to start making Christmas cards. I was originally going to use the Christmas freebies that I got recently to make a card, but when I looked through my box of Christmas card supplies I wanted to use my Elzybells stamps. I did some masking to create this scene and used an Elzybells sentiment to finish too.

Voodoo

Hello.
I thought for this image I would make a card which contrasts with it. I used a floral paper and a fun sentiment to balance out the dark image.

Blackpool

Hello.
Today I have been with James and his family to Blackpool. There is a photo below of them all with Blackpool Tower in the background. We had a lovely day visiting Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, eating fish & chips at Harry Ramsdens and playing on the 2p slot machines.

I made this card on Tuesday without actually thinking about the trip to Blackpool, but it's quite fitting that they've ended up in the same post. This is Marina from Delicious Doodles. She is backed on a paper from the Boy's Just Chillin' pad by Making Memories. I added an Elzybells sentiment to finish.

Ginger golfer

Hello.
This was a request from my Mum for someone from the rugby club she is involved with. She asked me to have a golfer wearing the club colours, and it had to have forty on the card. This is what I came up with for her.

Meerkats

Hello.
I wanted to use this Delicious Doodles image on a card for James because it reminds me of when we went to the wildlife park and spent a lot of time watching the Meerkats. I don't really have any Meerkat papers though so I had to settle for an animal print one from DCWV's Safari Kids.

Happy Father's Day

Hello.
My family don't really send cards for Father's day or Mother's day so this card is for James' dad. It uses papers from the Space Age 6x6 pad by Best Creations and an Elzybells alphabet. There is silver ink all around the edges of the three panels, but the lighting has made it only show on the top.

Happy birthday Keeley!

Hello.
Today is James' sister's 30th birthday. This is the card we have sent her. All the paper used on this are a digital design I did based on the Beatles.
