CYDI? Challenge # 35 - Birthday Flowers

Hello.
Although I did make two cards for the new CYDI? challenge and they were on the store blog in time, I am posting them late on my own blog. The new challenge is Birthday Flowers.

My first card was made using Penelope by LilyPink Designs. She is backed on a paper from the Designstax pad by Papermania. I added some Dovecraft bunting and created a sentiment using a mix of chipboard letters and peel off stickers. When I had finished I realised that it didn't mention birthdays, which is why I made the second card.

For the second card I used Celebrate With Cake by A Creative Need. All I added was a sentiment. Both the image and sentiment are raised using foam pads.

Steampunk Birthday

Hello.
I tend to stick to CAS designs, but I had lots of fun playing around to make this card. The card base is bronze shimmery card. The next layer is a textured light brown paper from my stash, which was inked around the edges with a red ink pad. After that is a paper from the Persimmon Collection by Papermania, which has a strip from a page in an old book down one side and was inked around the edges using a bronze ink pad. The top layer is Key Background by LilyPink Designs, which I printed two of so that I could cut the clock from one of them. The head is a freebie from Beyond The Fringe and the hat is Top Hat, another LilyPink Designs image. All the images were coloured using a combination of pencils and sponging from ink pads. The gold embossed sentiment is from the Worth Repeating set by Stampology. To finish I added some brads. I didn't have brads in the colour I wanted to I filed some silver ones and inked them using a bronze ink pad.

Happy Birthday Richard!

Hello.
Today is my cousin's boyfriends birthday. Whenever we go to Rossnowlagh while we are in Ireland he will spend most of his time searching the rock's for fossils. I took inspiration from that for his card. I went with lots of grey to imitate the rock colours and used a Doodle Dragon Studios sentiment which has dinosaur bones around it. The papers are from the Black and White Colossal Paper Pack by Papermania.

I also used the paper to decorate the inside of the card.

Thinking of You

Hello.
I am back from my week in Ireland. It was a lovely, relaxing trip. As we visit almost every year it is hard to find new things to do. This time we managed to do a mixture of new things, things we haven't done in years and the things that we have to do every time we go. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

On to my card...I started by spraying a scrap piece of watercolour paper in Maple Creative Colour Spray, then stamped over that using the Flounce set from Papermania's Persimmon Collection. I tied some bakers twine around the watercolour paper. The sentiment is from a Studio G set, that was stamped onto a separate paper and is raised up using foam pads.

Happy Birthday Hollie!

Hello.
Today is James' cousins birthday. I have used Sweet Birthday by Birds Cards for her card. The cupcake was covered in stickles, and then the image was backed on a paper from the Designstax pad by Papermania. I added a pink gem to each corner to finish.

Pegasus

Hello.
This is Pegasus by Delicious Doodles. I used monochrome papers for this card since I wanted to leave him uncoloured, as he is usually depicted as a white horse. The papers are all from the Capsule Collection by Papermania in black. Everything is backed on black glossy card from my scraps.

Happy Birthday Adam!

Hello.
Today is James' cousins birthday. When I asked James what he wanted on the card he suggested 'those creatures', so I have used Flob from DoodleFactory's Creatures Set II. I made the background paper using my Maple creative colour spray. The dots were stamped using bubble wrap, which was inspired by this card. The sentiment was embossed using a chocolate scented embossing powder.

In memory of Jacqui

Hello.
This girl has been coloured, cut and waiting to go on a card for a few weeks. After only finding out yesterday about Jacqui's passing I wanted to make a card in memory of her. I was only properly introduced to The Digi Garden late last year, but my collection of images quickly grew, her generosity with freebies on the Facebook page helped that! I know she will be missed, and I want to send my deepest sympathy to anyone who knew her.

Happy Birthday Paddy!

Hello.
Today is my cousins birthday. The card I made for him uses two Creative Stamping Magazine sets. The image is from the For Him set and the sentiment is from the Celebrations set.

CYDI? Challenge #27 - Getting Girly

Mrs. Monochrome

Hello.
I love this stamp which came with the latest issue of Creative Stamping magazine. I knew when I saw the set that I had to emboss her. The paper, flower and the brad (centre of the flower) are all in the Black line from the Capsule Collection by Papermania. The two empty corners were rounded because I thought it looked too plain before.

Purple monochrome

Hello.
When looking through my pile of printed digi's I was inspired to use one of my favourite images. This is Devilish Donna by Kenny K. She is on a paper from the All Seasons pad, which is backed by a paper from my scraps. The flowers are from the small Petal Pouch by Papermania, with their centres punched from the same scrap paper I used matting. The gems are from my stash.

CYDI? Challenge #26 - Sparkle, Sparkle

Hello.
Happy new year to all my blogging friends! I hope you all had a good start to 2013.

Today's card is for the Can You Digi It challenge. Challenge 26 is to use some sparkle. I created my card using Bingo Dress Form & Wings by LilyPink designs. I used Star Dust Stickles to make the wings sparkly. There are also a few of the craft goodies I got for Christmas used on this card. The ribbon is from a pack designed by Amy Tan for American Crafts, and was tied using my Papermania Bow Maker. The background paper is from the All Seasons pad from the Recollections line by Michaels, and the circle is from the Blossom pad by K and Company.

Here's a coupld of closer pictures to show the sparkle on the wings.

Snow scene

Hello.
This card is going to the part of my family who don't come to my Grandma's for Christmas, I am getting all the family who do come to my Grandma's to sign it for them. It uses the beautiful 'On a Winter's Day' image by Delicious Doodles. I left the image as it is when printed because it really doesn't need anything adding to it. I framed it with some stickles, then backed it on plain white card. For the next layer I stamped a snowflake image by HOTP in silver onto white card. Then it all went on an 8x8 card base. The sentiment comes from the Seasons Greetings set by Papermania.

Vintage bear

Hello.
I haven't blogged for a while as I haven't really made anything. When I have had time for crafting I just haven't felt like making anything. But today I got to spend most of the day at my craft desk and I've had some Christmas music playing so I've been working on my Christmas cards.

I bought some 8x8 cards last month to make Christmas cards for mine and James' families and this is the first one I've used. I kept this one fairly simple just three squares of paper, a stamp, some brads and some faux stitching. That lovely image was from a magazine freebie set by Adam Pescott. The holly paper is from the Christmas Village 6x6 pad by First Edition Papers, and the red paper is from Papermania's Vintage Christmas 8x8 pad. I'll decide who's getting which card when I have them all ready.

Happy Birthday Treena!

Hello.
Today is James' Mum's birthday. I made the box which I shared on Day 20 for her, with a card to match. So today I am sharing the card. They are the same design except the card has Baker Kaylee from Some Odd Girl on it.

Here they are together.

I forgot to take a picture once the box was filled, but it had a cake in it.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 21

Hello.
The next five parts of the 31 Day Card Challenge are inspiration challenges. The first is to be inspired by one of your own cards from a year ago. I didn't have anything on my blog from last October, so I had to choose one that I  have a picture of which I knew was made roughly a year ago. The inspiration card is below.

This is last years card which I took the inspiration from.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 20

Hello.
For day 20 of the 31 Day Card Challenge the challenge is to make any kind of gift holder. I decided to make an origami box, as I haven't made one for a while. I decorated the top with a paper from the Spring Burst pad by Papermania and added digi's from a set by Wink Wink Ink.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 14

Hello.
Glitter is the challenge for day 14 of the 31 Day Card Challenge. I have two different glitters on my card. The paper I used from the Designstax pad by Papermania is glittered, and I added two strips of double sided tape which I covered with blue glitter. The Raggy Pony image is another of the Goth Kidz from Squiggle. I am loving those images at the moment.
