Happy Birthday Geran! and Happy Anniversary Treena and Bob!

Hello.
Today is James' Auntie's birthday, and his parents anniversary, so I have two cards to share.

First is the card for his Auntie, I masked off an area in the middle of the card and then stamped a butterfly from the Just Chillin' set by Making Memories. When I removed the mask I added some faux stitching and stamped a sentiment from the Jungle Creatures set by Kanban.

For his parents anniversary card I used Derek and Deirdery Dunderton from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. They were backed by some white card and a paper from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey, both of which were inked along the edges. I don't have an anniversary stamp and I didn't want to use an alphabet set so for the sentiment I used Family Greetings by Elzybells to create one.

Happy Birthday Frank!

Hello.
Today is James' Granddad's birthday. I went with a book theme for his card using papers from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey and the Book Stack image from Bugaboo. The sentiment is from the Elzybells Hey Cupcake set.

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Hello.
James' nephew is one today. I made the card we are sending him to match the present we got him. We have bought him a Build-A-Bear, which is dressed in a Lightning McQueen t-shirt. I used this cute bear image from Beccy's Place and coloured the one in Lightning McQueen colours.

No Lines

Hello.
I mentioned in my last post that I had been browsing through some techniques. One that I have been meaning to try was no line stamping. For my first attempt at it I used this sweet image from The Greeting Farm. It is definitely one I will be trying again as I really like how she turned out.

More birthday cards

Hello.
These are two more cards my Mum received for her birthday. These were made by me for my Grandma and Uncle to send.

This first one uses an image which was from the Disguised as a Grown Up Blog. I paper pieced her dress using the same paper I backed her on. It is from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey. The sentiment was created using the Script Alphabet by Hobbycraft.

The second card uses Brad and Janet from the Rocky Horror set from Octopode Factory. I created the sentiment using an Elzybells alphabet. For anyone that doesn't know, 'Dammit Janet' is a song from Rocky Horror.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Hello.
Today is my Mum's birthday! As well as making a card for her I have made her a calender. This guy is Romeo by Kenny K. Anyone who has ever had to make my mum a coffee will have most likely heard her saying the phrase I have added. The writing was done using Hobbycraft's Typography Alphabet, and the paper is from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey.

I used another Kenny K image (Total Disaster) for her card. I have been planning this card for her since I first got that digi. I used an Elzybells alphabet for most of the sentiment, and a FunkyHand stamp for the rest. The spotty paper is from the All Seasons pad in the Recollections range from Michael's.

Last minute Halloween card

Hello.
In the last minute of Halloween I wanted to share this card I made last night. I didn't want to post it earlier as I didn't want it to get in the way of the last part of the challenge I've been doing all month. This image is one of the Halloweenie's by Delicious Doodles. These images are great for layering, which is what I have done on this card.

Here is a side view to show the different layers.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 18

Hello.
Easel cards are the challenge for day 18 of the 31 Day Card Challenge. I thought it would be fun to have an image of an easel on my easel card, so I used this painting dragon from Doodle Dragon Studios. I chose one of my favourite sentiments to go with him, and to keep with the colour theme added a selection of different buttons.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 3

Hello.
Primary colours is the third challenge of the 31 Day Card Challenge. I coloured Dragonlets and Me by Delicious Doodles in the three primary colours and backed her on a paper from the Life of the Party pad by Basic Grey. For the sentiment I chose one a 'magical' one to go with the dragons, it comes from the Black and Gold - Phrases stamps set in the Forever Friends range by Docrafts.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 2

Hello.
Day 2 of the 31 Day Card Challenge is mint chocolate. I coloured this bed from Birds Cards in mint green and three shades of brown. I thought the bed might be a good image for a get well soon card, so I used a sentiment that I think works on that theme. For the background I used a paper from the Out of Print pad by Basic Grey because most people I know tend to read a lot when they're ill and needing to rest.

Hugs

Hello.
I seem to have been neglecting my blog recently, so I have three cards ready to post over the next three days.

Today's card uses Just Purr-fect from Delicious Doodles. I backed her on a paper from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey. The sentiment was created using the Typography alphabet set from Hobbycraft.

Cool!

Hello.
I've not been feeling too good over the past week. I had a hospital appointment last Wednesday and then caught a sickness bug over the weekend so I haven't had chance to make anything. Luckily I already had my brother's birthday card made, and had the post scheduled so my blog hasn't been too empty. I am feeling better now though and have managed to make something. I kept this card really simple and just used a digi stamp and one paper. The digi comes from Birds Cards, and I chose a paper from Basic Grey's 'Life of the Party' stack to back it.

On Your Feet

Hello.
In my collection of cards which I have made I don't have many get well soon cards, so when I saw this image I knew it would be perfect to remedy that. This cute image come from Bird's Cards.

Happy mail

Hello.
I'm a little behind with posting this. On Friday I received an awesome package in the mail. It was the blog candy I won from Kelly's blog a little while back. I had to wait all weekend before I could play with it though. So on Monday I made this card using lots of items from the package. The package contained a lot of firsts for me including my first Stampin! Up sets, my first Riley stamps and my first image from The Greeting Farm. I love everything that was sent to me, especially the card that she included with it. When I've finished this post I'll be off to play with my new goodies some more.

Here is a little peek at what was in the package.

I want to finish the post with a massive thank you to Kelly. Thank you for such a wonderful prize! It was well worth waiting for!

Paper bracelets

Hello.
When I first tried paper bead bracelets I promised my Mum I would make her one. I finally got around to making it. It uses a paper from Basic Grey's Oxford 6x6 pad.

When I gave the bracelet to my Mum she asked if I would make one for a colleague of hers who is leaving. Her colleague likes purple so I used two purple papers. The paper on the left is from a Kate Knight 6x6 pad which was a freebie and the paper on the right is from the Celebrations 6x6 pad by Paper Cellar.

Dove and Rose

Hello.
I created this card for the sketch challenge at SCS. The papers are from Basic Grey's Out of Print 6x6 pad and the flowers are from the Papermania Petal Pouch, both of which were birthday presents. The Dove is an image by Dee Dee's. It was only after I put it over the circle frame that I realised it reminded me of the Mockingjay pin from The Hunger Games.

I added some small strips of the papers to the inside for an extra finishing touch.
