Happy birthday Anne! and Happy Birthday Nine!

Hello.
Today is both my Auntie and James' Auntie's birthdays.

First is the card for my Auntie Anne. I used George Swooney from Kenny K for her card, and gave him a red carpet to walk down. I added lots of glitter to the card to reflect the lights and paparazzi that would be around a red carpet.

James' Auntie Nine (Janine) loves cats so for her card I used Floating Cats by KiniArt.

Happy Birthday Alex!

Hello.
Today is James' cousin's birthday. James suggested using this Kenny K image as his cousin loves computer games. Usually with cards I will colour an image and then choose papers to match, but this time I did the opposite. I coloured him to match the background paper. Then cut circles from some scrap papers to match the background too. I have added a birthday sentiment inside using one of the Kid Quotes from Inkadinkado.

Happy Birthday Gemma!

Hello.
Today is James' cousins birthday. For her card I have used Happy Hour by Kenny K. I kept the card simple by just using a couple of pieces of card which matched the colours of her dress. The sentiment comes from the Jungle Creatures set by Kanban.

Happy Birthday James!

Hello.
Today is James' birthday! I have made him an accordion card using an idea I've had for a while. When I saw Cookie Guy and Superhero from Kenny K I wanted to make a card based on Superman changing in the phone booth. Since James is a comic book fan I wanted to wait for his birthday to make it. I found the phone booth image on a blog called Beyond the Fringe.

The change takes place over three pages of the card. The first page shows the Cookie Guy, the second is the Telephone Booth with the blur of colour inside as he changes to be the Superhero who appears on the third page. I thought it would be fun to have the sentiment spread over all three pages too.

For each image I created a background to match. Cookie Guy has games console controllers, the Telephone Booth has numbers as they are on a phone key pad, and the Superhero has stars.

I added some gloss to Cookie Guy's glasses, and the Telephone Booth is laid over acetate so that they both look more like glass. To finish each panel I added some faux stitching around the edges.

Nine Years!

Hello.
Today James and I are celebrating nine years together! When browsing the Kenny K store recently I came across the Spaced image and knew what I wanted to do for James' card. We are both big Star Wars fans, so I based my card around that. The sentiment comes from the scene where Leia tells Han she loves him and he replies with 'I know'.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Hello.
Today is my Mum's birthday! As well as making a card for her I have made her a calender. This guy is Romeo by Kenny K. Anyone who has ever had to make my mum a coffee will have most likely heard her saying the phrase I have added. The writing was done using Hobbycraft's Typography Alphabet, and the paper is from the Oxford pad by Basic Grey.

I used another Kenny K image (Total Disaster) for her card. I have been planning this card for her since I first got that digi. I used an Elzybells alphabet for most of the sentiment, and a FunkyHand stamp for the rest. The spotty paper is from the All Seasons pad in the Recollections range from Michael's.

Purple monochrome

Hello.
When looking through my pile of printed digi's I was inspired to use one of my favourite images. This is Devilish Donna by Kenny K. She is on a paper from the All Seasons pad, which is backed by a paper from my scraps. The flowers are from the small Petal Pouch by Papermania, with their centres punched from the same scrap paper I used matting. The gems are from my stash.

Broken Foot

Hello.
Some of you may remember James breaking his foot back in March. Well, it didn't heal properly, so today he has had surgery to fuse the bones back together. He should only be in hospital over the weekend, but will then be in a cast for another three months. I'm posting this really quickly before I go to visit him, so I'll get on to the card. I used a Kenny K image, and backed him on a circle of paper from the Travel Light pad by We R Memory Keepers. I will update about James with my next post.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 26

Hello.
The sketch challenges have started with day 26 of the 31 Day Card Challenge. I don't have individual pictures of the sketches, they are just on the challenge list. For this card I used Allura Von D by Kenny K and backed her on a paper from the Hopscotch pad by K&Company.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 25

Hello.
Day 25's challenge in the 31 Day Card Challenge is to be inspired by a card on the first page of your favourite card gallery. I chose the SCS gallery. I actually made this card on Monday as I knew I wouldn't have much chance the rest of the week for card making. So this is inspired by this card by Cailin which was on the first  page when I looked on Monday.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 19

Hello.
The challenge for day 19 of the 31 Day Card Challenge is spring cards. I have only tried this fold once before. When I had the card folded I couldn't decide what decoration to put on the bottom, so I ended up just rounding the corners.

Live the Life You Love

Hello.
I pulled out an old card base for this one. I have had this pack of decorative cards (I don't have the box, but I think they were by DCWV) for a few years and barely used any of them. They caught my eye when I sat down to make this though. It's always fun to rediscover old supplies so I might use a few more of them soon.

Skater

Hello.
Just a quick post as I really should be in bed right now. This card uses Skate Chick from Kenny K and a scrap from Papermania's Capsule Collection in Black which when cut into three fit perfectly on this card.

Dixie Chick

Hello.
This was another paper I pulled from the Funky Vintage pack. It went perfectly with this digi which was in my pile of digi's I've already coloured and cut out. After this card I worked through a few more digi's from that pile and got eight more cards made. I will be sharing them over the next couple of days.

Pop Star

Hello.
This is possibly going to be my Auntie's birthday card. I have a week to decide and maybe make a new one. I knew I wanted to use this image for her, but I feel as though this card is missing something. It might just need a sentiment, but where I put the image doesn't leave much room for one.

You make life fun

Hello.
Just a quick and simple card using one of my favourite images.

Singing The Blues

Hello.
I have a pile of images that are coloured, cut out and waiting to be made into cards, which I have started to work through. This card uses one of the Kenny K images from the pile. I made the background for this card using the Rock Star set from Inkadinkado.

Star

Hello.
Tomorrow is one of James' cousins birthday's. This is the card I have made for her. The image comes from Kenny K. I created the background lettering on my computer and then stamped it using the star from Creative Cafe's 'Calender Grid' set. The sentiment comes from a magazine freebie set by Funkyhand.

Cool Kid

Hello.
Yesterday James and I went for a walk at the local reservoir just before the sun started going down and then went to my Grandma's so I could make a quick card. I used one of the Kenny K images that I coloured recently, and kept it fairly simple.

Here is one of the pictures I took while we were at the reservoir.
