Glitter bow

Hello.
IHaveACupcake who I watch on YouTube recently made a bow ring which she covered in glitter and then added rhinestones. I liked the ring better before she added the rhinestones, so decided to make my own glitter bow ring. I used a black glittery embossing powder instead of just glitter though to make it easier to varnish over.

Update on the Harry Potter rings

Hello.
A few posts back I mentioned that I was making a set of Harry Potter jewellery, and that I had finished the rings but didn't have a picture. Here are the pictures of the finished rings

To make them even more realistic I also did the back covers for them, so here is the back of the rings.

Butterflies

Hello.
We've been getting lots of rain here for the past few days, so much that most of the rivers are almost bursting, so I decided to go for a sunny coloured card to cheer things up a little. The newest Delicious Doodles challenge is bingo. I've seen a couple of these challenges before, but have never tried one. As I was making the card I was still trying to decide which line to use, so I've ended up with two. I was going to do Flowers, Image and Punches, but I didn't think the flowers on the background paper stood out enough, so I have gone for Punches, Glitter and Brads. The glitter doesn't show too well on the picture, but there is a spot of it on each butterflies wings. I've added a close up picture at the bottom to try and show it better. There are a few extra butterflies on here than on the original image. I cut them from two smaller copies of the image and stuck them so there wings pop up.

Avengers Assemble

Hello.
I have made this card in honour of the Avengers film coming out today. James and I went to see it, and both loved it. The images on this card come from a sticker book I bought when I was in Florida in 2007. I bought the book with the idea of using the stickers for cards, but this is the first time I have used any. The Hulk, Iron Man and Thor are all popped off the card to add some interest, but it doesn't show in the picture.

I added a little decoration to the inside too.

Harry Potter Jewellery

Hello.
A few people have made charm bracelets of book series', so I decided to take that idea and make a full jewellery set. I have all the images printed off ready for the full set, but so far I have only made the rings. Here is a picture of the Harry Potter books in miniature before being attached to their ring bases.

Sundaes

Hello.
More magazine freebies on this card. I left a couple of sets on my desk to make sure I would use them. These Sundaes are from a set be Beth Gunnell. The Elzybells set I used for the sentiment on my last card was still out to I used it for this one too.

Cardvelope

Hello.
It's not often I have an idea for a card before I sit down to make it, but this one I did, except the stamps, I didn't choose them until I looked through what I have. I ended up using a Sharon Bennett set which was a magazine freebie and the 'Hey Cupcake' set by Elzybells.

Here is a close up of the stamp, to show the detail better. I added glitter to some of the sprinkles and gloss to the cherry. I don't have a black fineliner pen, so I ended up writing 1st in silver instead.

Britain

Hello.
With the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee coming up this year there are lot of British themed items coming out. One of the magazines I buy recently gave away a free stamp by Sally Moret and a selection of papers based on Britian. I have used both on this card, then added some buttons to finish it off.

Pirates!

Hello.
This card uses three images from Beccy's Place, and an Elzybells sentiment. I might end up re-making this with a treasure map background and different sized images.

Happy birthday Richard!

Hello.
Today is my cousin's boyfriend's birthday. These are a couple of cards he will be receiving from my family.

The first one is from me and James. I asked James what he thought I should put on the card and he said Batman. I don't own any Batman images, so I just went with the superhero theme instead, and used this Dustin Pike dragon. I coloured his clothes black to represent Batman, and put him over cloudy paper to make his fly. To finish the card off I used a sentiment from Stampology's 'Worth Repeating' set.

The second card will be from my parents. He is seen as a Goth so I chose to use 'Sexy Goth Girl' from Delicious Doodles for his other card. Once I'd coloured the image and cut round it I decided to add gems to two corners. Before I stuck them down I realised it looked like a playing card, so I added his age, to make it look more like one.

Singing The Blues

Hello.
I have a pile of images that are coloured, cut out and waiting to be made into cards, which I have started to work through. This card uses one of the Kenny K images from the pile. I made the background for this card using the Rock Star set from Inkadinkado.

Black, White and Red All Over

Hello.
I've been making more paper beads. I cut two 8x8 pages into strips and I'm working my way through them. These three bracelets have been finished so far.

And this is what's left to do.

Dating Zombies

Hello.
I coloured this image in a few days ago, and backed it on a few circles. The new challenge at Delicious Doodles is to use lots of layers so I made her into a card to enter into that. I created the sentiment to go with it, which I've included as a freebie at the end of this post. I'm not sure where I heard a similar joke recently, but I based my sentiment on that.

And, here is the digi I created. Feel free to grab it, and I would love to see what you create if you use it.

Selkie

Hello.
Just a quick card today using another image from Delicious Doodles. I love how she is beautiful and frightening at the same time. I gave her gems for her eyes to add to the mythical effect.

I had never heard of Selkies before finding this image so I googled them to see how they were different from mermaids. Here is what the top paragraph of Wikipedia said

"Selkies (also known as silkies or selchies) are mythological creatures found in Faroese, Icelandic, Irish, and Scottish folklore. The word derives from earlier Scots selich, (from Old English seolh meaning seal). Selkies are said to live as seals in the sea but shed their skin to become human on land. The legend apparently originated on the Orkney and Shetland Islands."

Paper beads

Hello.
I recently joined a new blog group and after having a look through their blogs I found this post on Dana's about paper beads, which includes a tutorial and cutting file. I have seen these a few times lately and have been wanting to try them, but hadn't got around to searching for a tutorial yet. Her's made it sound simple so I decided to give it a go. I made beads in three different sizes and then turned them into two bracelets.

Here they are individually.

I will definitely be making more of these. They're a lot easier to make than I had expected, they look great and of course they can be made to match any outfit.

Star

Hello.
Tomorrow is one of James' cousins birthday's. This is the card I have made for her. The image comes from Kenny K. I created the background lettering on my computer and then stamped it using the star from Creative Cafe's 'Calender Grid' set. The sentiment comes from a magazine freebie set by Funkyhand.

Peace

Hello.
I wanted this card to reflect how serene the image is, so I kept it fairly plain and just used layers of white card, although I did add some glitter around the image to give it a wintry feel.

Celtic Goddess/Native American

Hello.
This is one of the Delicious Doodles images I mentioned I had coloured. She is described as being a Celtic Goddess on their blog, but she reminded me of a Native American so I coloured her as one. I am now on the look out for a feather to finish off the bottom panel, because it seems to be missing something.

Happy Easter!

Hello.
Today I will be having Easter dinner with James' family. I was going to make a cake for us to have after dinner but I though corn flake buns would be more Eastery. They're so easy to make, and so fun when you get to eat the leftover mixture.

I hope you're all enjoying a lovely Easter.

Poppies

Hello.
After the card I posted with the Delicious Doodles skull heart on it I went and purchased a few more of their stamps. This card uses one of them, and I have a couple of others coloured and waiting to be made into cards. I also used a Unity stamp for the first time. Their Regal Greetings set was sent to me a while back, but I've never actually used it. I have stamped a couple of them, but never ended up using them on a finished project. I found the paper when I was sorting through my 12x12 papers, looking for one with poppies on. I couldn't find any poppies, but I thought this one would be perfect. It's almost like material, and there are strands of thread running through it, so it was even more perfect as I can now enter this card in the Delicious Doodles current challenge, which is to use texture on your card.

Inkadinkacollage

Hello.
While I had my Inkadinkado sets out I though I would use two of my favourites to make a collage. This was created using images from the Rock Star and the In The Groove set. I filed the edges of the paper and slightly scrunched parts of it then inked the edges to add a grungey look. The finished collage is mounted on a pearlescent card.

Skull Heart

Hello.
I wanted to make a single layer card yesterday, but ended up making this with the heart popped off the card. The heart comes from Delicious Doodles, if you haven't seen their stamps, they are definitely worth a look. They have a great variety of unique images, as well as some more contemporary ones. The border is from the Rock Star set by Inkadinkado, which is one of my favourite sets. It has been left unused for a while, so I think I'll play with it some more while I've got it on my desk. I thought it would be fun to contrast the dark images with a cute sentiment, so I chose one from Elyzbells' Summertime mini messages.

Russian dolls

Hello.
This card uses a combination of four different stamp companies. The image of the doll comes from another magazine freebie set, which doesn't have a company name on it. I used the masking technique to turn it into three dolls. The clear flower is from the stamp set in Dovecraft's Sugar and Spice range. The block flower is from Kanban's Jungle Creatures set,and the sentiment comes from Hobbycraft's Thank You set.

Green Bow

Hello.
I made this black bow ring in January, and was planning to make some others. I've made this green one slightly smaller so that it's easier to wear daily.

Malteser and Popcorn cake

Hello.
I wanted to share this cake that I made a couple of days ago. It uses a really basic recipe, which is to weigh the eggs and then measure the other ingredients to the same weight. I decorated it using Malteasers and popcorn, and used cocoa powder to make some butter icing.

Bookmarks

Hello.
These two bookmarks were both made using the same Creative Stamping freebie set that I used for yesterday's card.
