Heart collage

Hello.
Recently HeyKayli, a channel I subscribe to on YouTube, posted this video showing how to create a really fun piece of artwork. She cut pieces from magazines to cover a canvas and then put a decal over it. I took that as inspiration for this card. I used a selection of papers from my scrap box to cover the card. Then covered over that with the heart. I'm not sure if I'm going to add a sentiment or something else to finish off the card a bit more. If I do add anything to it I will share it in another post.

Pink Kitty

Hello.
A few posts back I mentioned that I had four Kenny K images waiting to be coloured. They are all now coloured, cut out and waiting to go on cards. I used one of them for this card. The idea for this card came almost as soon as I had finished colouring her. After I'd finished making it though I realised I could have added something behind the acetate to turn it into a shaker card. I'll make sure I think of it earlier next time.

Liebster

Hello.
I started today with a smile when I found out Danie from the TUIC blog I am in sent me this blog award. Danie creates a lovely variety of cards, and you should definitely check out her wonderful blog here.

Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers. So, in the spirit of good fun I am passing this award on to another group of wonderful bloggers who's blogs I love to visit. Please stop by and visit them.

The Rules are:
1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Back in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.
5. Finally and the best rule of all..........have fun and spread the love!

Pampering session

Hello.
My Grandma has been having problems with her knee lately, she went to see a doctor yesterday who told she may end up needing a new knee. So my Mum, my Auntie and I organised a pampering session at her house on Thursday to try and cheer her up. While we were there we used the face steamer and some face masks. I also painted my Mum and my Grandma's nails, and I dyed my Mum's hair. My Auntie ended up leaving early so she didn't get her nails done. My Grandma just had her nails painted a neutral colour, but my Mum asked me to do something with red and green on hers. This is how my Mum's nails turned out.

Golfing Gus

Hello.
As with my last post, this card was a request. My Grandma needed a card for her brother, who is a keen golfer. She said she wanted a funny card so I searched the internet for golf jokes. I didn't find any that really appealed to me, so I thought I would look for the image and then search again for a joke. I found Gus on Bugaboo, who comes with his own funny sentiment, so I had to get him.

Football (soccer)

Hello.
James' cousin has a birthday coming up soon, so I had to get a card ready for him. When I asked James what he wanted on the card he said football. After looking through my digi's I was quite surprised to find that I didn't really have any that would work so I went in search of one. I found two so I got them both, and ended up making two cards.

The first one uses an image from Kenny K and a sentiment from Stampology. I used four green promarkers to create some grass for him to be playing on.

The second one uses an image from Bugaboo and a sentiment from Hobbycraft. This one had to be kept really simple as I ended up making it in a bit of a rush.

Love Bingo

Hello.
I've loved the look of bingo ticket images on many people cards before, and I finally got around to using one myself. This one comes from a set of 6 available at My Grafico. The lady sitting on the ticket is from Stamp Insanity. I originally got both images ready to go on separate cards, but then decided they might look good together. So this is how they ended up.

Doodle Birthday

Hello.
I'm supposed to be getting ready to leave the house right now, so I'll keep this post short. This card was made on Friday and I wasn't sure whether to blog it, since I haven't had chance to make anything else I thought I would share it today. I ended up having to make it quite fast so I stuck with a simple layout.

Skate Chick

Hello.
Another Kenny K image for today's card. I have four more printed and waiting to be coloured, so there'll be more of his images coming up in the next few posts. This girl seemed perfect to create a scene card, so I used some papers from my stash to make a background for her. The sentiment comes from the Phrases set in the Forever Friends range by Docrafts.

Relax

Hello.
Just a quick post for this quick and simple single layer card. This is another of the beautiful images from Kenny K. I used this image for practising my shading. It's a lot easier now that I have a better selection of colours. I can't wait to get more colours so I can play around even more.

Baking

Hello.
A few weeks back I bought the Kitschy Kitchen 6x6 pad by Melissa Frances. Last week I put it straight in front of where I sit at my desk so that I would use it, as my paper pads tend to sit unused for a long time. I got around to using it for this card, all these papers are from that pad. The image is by Dee Dee's.

Gothic Angel

Hello.
I always love when people add lots of layers, pretty patterned papers and embellishments to their cards, but I tend to stick to pretty simple designs. Today I thought I would have a go at creating something with a bit more going on. I started by colouring Devilish Donna from Kenny K and then chose some monotone papers to go with her. All the patterned papers are from the Black & White 6x6 pad by Paper Cellar. For the finishing touch I used some black paper to create some flowers.

Heart Teddies

Hello.
I recently saw a twisted tri-fold card in a magazine and thought it looked like a fun and unusual fold, so I decided to give it a go. I used a couple of Elzybells stamps for the images. Teddy Heart is a slightly larger version of the teddy from the middle of Love You Teds, so I used him to give the teddies a bit of variation in size. The hearts on the background are from the Scrumptious stamp set by Papermania. This card is for James, to celebrate our 8 year anniversary.

This is what the card looks like flattened out.

When it is all folded up, this is what you can see.

And here is how it looks it it's left free-standing.

Birthday blues

Hello.
Today is one of my best friends birthdays, so I have made this easel card for her. I created the background using a stamp which came in a set I bought at Poundland. The two images are digi's the girl is from Kenny K and the mp3 player is from Starry Night Studios. The sentiment is from a magazine freebie set by Ladybug Crafts Ink. For the bottom panel I hand drew some buttons to keep with the mp3 player theme.

An update on my last post:
Thomas was born Saturday evening at around 5:30. Unfortunately we didn't get to go and see him on Sunday because of icy roads and work clashing with visiting hours. I have seen pictures of him though, and he is beautiful. We will be going to see him this Sunday instead.

Welcome to the world.

Hello.
James' sister is due to give birth any time soon, so I have made this card as a congratulations for Keeley and Mick, and as a way of welcoming Thomas into the world. Because this is a scheduled post, he may already be here by the time this appears on my blog. James and I can't wait to meet him. We will be going to see Keeley on Sunday night, so hopefully Thomas will be here by then.

Thomas was written using the Fun Alphabet set by Papermania. The rest of the sentiment was written using an Elzybells alphabet. The animals are Snag 'Ems by Imaginisce. As well as the three on the front, there is this Giraffe inside the card.

So cute

Hello.
I used another Mo Manning image for this card. This monkey is just adorable, so I had to create a sentiment to go with him. I wasn't sure if I wanted a background paper on this card, but I think I like the CAS look of it.

Gamers

Hello.
This is a his and hers set of birthday cards using the gamers from Mo's Digital Pencil. The textured paper that they are sitting on is from a pack of hand crafted papers by Dovecraft. The patterned papers along the bottom are from the Travel Light 6x6 pad by We R Memory Keepers. The sentiment is from the Our Betty stamp set by Funky Hand which came free with Papercraft Essentials.
