I have something a little different to share in this post. This is the cake I made for my Mum's birthday yesterday. I followed the recipe for a Victoria sponge cake, but replaced some of the flour with cocoa powder. Then instead of jam between the two layers I used Nutella. I'm hoping eventually to learn how to decorate cakes, but since I'm not so great at it yet I just sprinkled the top with icing sugar.
