The current challenge over at Can You Digi It? is White Wedding. For my DT card I used Flowergirl by KiniArt. She is backed by three strips of paper from the Black & White pad by Paper Cellar.

Happy Birthday Richard!

Hello.
Today is my cousin's boyfriends birthday. Whenever we go to Rossnowlagh while we are in Ireland he will spend most of his time searching the rock's for fossils. I took inspiration from that for his card. I went with lots of grey to imitate the rock colours and used a Doodle Dragon Studios sentiment which has dinosaur bones around it. The papers are from the Black and White Colossal Paper Pack by Papermania.

I also used the paper to decorate the inside of the card.

Happy Birthday Paddy!

Hello.
Today is my cousins birthday. The card I made for him uses two Creative Stamping Magazine sets. The image is from the For Him set and the sentiment is from the Celebrations set.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 8

Hello.
The spotlight technique is the the 8th part of the 31 Day Card Challenge. Usually when I do the spotlight technique I use a landscape image, so I thought I'd try something different this time. This is I'm Ba-aaack by Delicious Doodles.

31 Day Card Challenge - Day 1

Hello.
It's October, which means I start my 31 Day Card Challenge. I will be posting the challenge cards at 12pm every day.

For day 1 the challenge is to use black, white and one other colour (the other colour I used is blue). This lady is from the Art Deco set which came with Creative Stamping Magazine. I coloured her hat and dress in blue and added a blue gem to the front of her hat. She is backed on three ovals, the top one is black glossy card, the middle is white card cut with decorative scissors and the bottom one is white card which I coloured with the same blue pen that was used on the image. The background paper is from the Black and White pack by Paper Cellar. I finished off with a sentiment from the Worth Repeating set by Stampology, and added a couple more gems.

Happy birthday Mick!

Hello.
Today is James' brother in law's birthday. I printed this image from Bird's Cards quite big, so it filled most of the card, and didn't leave much room for anything else. I managed to get a couple of brads and a paper from the Black and White pad by Papermania on it though.

Pop of pink

Hello.
This card uses another stamp set from the package mentioned a couple of posts back. I liked the way the image on the packaging was only coloured with little touches of pink, so I based my card on that.

Gothic Angel

Hello.
I always love when people add lots of layers, pretty patterned papers and embellishments to their cards, but I tend to stick to pretty simple designs. Today I thought I would have a go at creating something with a bit more going on. I started by colouring Devilish Donna from Kenny K and then chose some monotone papers to go with her. All the patterned papers are from the Black & White 6x6 pad by Paper Cellar. For the finishing touch I used some black paper to create some flowers.

Mothers Day part 2

Hello.
I have two Mother's day cards to show you today. The first one is the one I actually gave my mum yesterday.
I didn't really like how it turned out. I rushed it too much Saturday night because I was ready for bed. Today I have made a second card which I am going to give to my mum when she gets home from work tonight. The photo is of me with my mum, my dad and my brother in Ireland last September.

- The paper is from the Honey and Hugs 8x8 paper stack which is available here.
- The ribbon is from Dunelm Mill.
- I'm not sure who makes the daisy punch I use but there is the same design available here.
- The wavy border was cut using decorative scissors which are available here.

You're Special

Hello.
So I'm back for day two on my blog. This stamp was bought for me by my FMIL. I thought I would try some blending with my markers, and I love how the orange flowers have turned out.

- The patterned paper is from the same pack as yesterdays, the 'Black & White' 6x6 pad from Paper Cellar Ltd.
- The butterfly stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and is called 'Butterfly Flourish'.
- 'You're Special' is from the 'Worth Repeating' stamp set by Stampology.
- The images were coloured using Papermania pastel brush markers.
- The faux stitching is done using a Green Sakura gelly roll pen from the Gold Shadow set.

My first blog post

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I have been putting off starting a blog for way too long. Recently I have joined a ten years self-improvement challenge (TYSIC for short) and part of my challenge was to become more confident. I am taking the first step towards confidence by finally getting this started. The challenge doesn't officially start untill Thursday, but I thought Monday would be a better day to start my blog, so I'm starting a few days early.

So without further ado here is the first card I am going to share with you:

- The card is cut to 4 1/4" square .
- The background paper is from the 'Black & White' 6x6 pad from Peper Cellar Ltd.
- The four squares of text are from my copy of Emma by Jane Austen which has gotten a little tatty even though it has never been read. I think I will have to buy another copy so that I can actually read it.
- The gem stones are from Papermania.
- The heart is from Craft for Occasions.
- The ribbon was bought at Dunelm Mill and is from a company called Boutique.
